How to read the rest of the VIN
After the manufacturer code, positions 4-8 describe the vehicle (series, body, engine - each maker uses its own scheme), position 9 is the checksum, position 10 encodes the model year, position 11 the assembly plant, and 12-17 are the production serial number. Paste the full 17 characters into the decoder and the official database resolves all of it.
